Not every child can thrive in a traditional school setting. Whether due to medical needs, social and emotional challenges, or an unmet SEND profile, some learners require a more flexible, personalised approach to education.
EOTAS—Education Otherwise Than at School—is designed to meet those needs.
Commissioned by local authorities, EOTAS allows young people to access education in ways that work for them. This may include one-to-one tuition at home, online sessions, or bespoke alternative programmes, all centred around their wellbeing and learning journey.

Let’s discuss EOTAS provision for your child
We work directly with SENDCos, case workers and local authority teams across Hampshire and Surrey. Our team of qualified tutors understands how to work within the SEND framework. Each educational package is carefully tailored to the child’s individual needs and complies fully with EHCP guidelines. From planning to reporting, every step is shaped around the child’s best interests and long-term outcomes.
We are partners with Tutors and Exams

As partners discounts on exams are applicable.
We use each young person’s EHCP (if available) to create short-term, subject-specific outcomes. These are fully integrated into every lesson and used to track meaningful progress.
After each session, families receive a written report, covering:
This helps everyone involved stay informed and engaged.
Every term (approximately every 12 weeks), we provide:
We also attend EHCP review meetings when needed, acting as advocates for the young person and providing insight to ensure their voice is heard.
We recommend a minimum commitment of one academic term (12 weeks), although many families and local authorities choose to continue across the school year for consistency and continuity. If your young person is on an AP package we will stop tutoring as soon as a placement has been secured.
Learning isn’t only about what happens in lessons social experiences are just as important.
That’s why we organise regular outings where learners can connect with peers, have fun, and build essential life skills.
Activities have included:
These carefully chosen experiences help young people build friendships, practise social skills, and feel part of a wider learning community. Parents often tell us these moments are just as valuable as the academic work—and we agree.
We’re here to walk this path with you. Our role is to provide more than just teaching—we offer professional support, compassionate communication, and a steady presence in what can sometimes feel like an uncertain process.
Families are kept informed, involved and empowered at every stage. That’s what makes our approach different.
“We were at crisis point with our 15-year-old son when we first met Claire and all I can say she became our sons Guardian Angel. …She cared when no-one else cared.
Our son had the dream journey through primary then he went to secondary school, and it all changed. He was considered disruptive and despite us trying to work with the Head of SEN things just spiralled.
Through private diagnosis we found out he had ADHD, despite that the school weren’t interested. Things continued to get worse, and he was then diagnosed with ASD at the age of 15. We worked with the school continuously, but they just seemed to keep punishing him which had a huge impact on his mental health.
By the time he hit the summer term of year 10 we were all at crisis point and going into September of Year 11 it was at critical point due to his GCSE year. This is where we met the wonderful Claire who walked by our side enabling us to remove our son from school but remain on the school role.
She helped us navigate the minefield of dealing with Surrey and obtaining the full cost of his tutoring through to the end of his GCSE’s and for him to be able to sit them at home with an invigilator coming to our house.
Claire herself built a relationship with our son and through herself and her amazing tutors helped retore our sons want to learn. Their nurturing approach tailored totally to our son helped him to regain a trust in teachers and education. He came out with his
GCSE’s thanks to Claire and her team and then went to go onto further education.
However, the relationship didn’t stop there. Claire continued to check in with our son and offer advice to him and us as his parents. He is now in a fulltime apprenticeship with the thoughts of going to university. Claire came to us in our time of crisis, and we will always be eternally grateful to how she helped and supported us through such a difficult time.”

My son was permanently excluded from school due to a single incident, so we found ourselves in a difficult situation very suddenly with little support from the school. Our case was not what it would seem and without knowing detail it would have been easy to judge.
I contacted Home School Tutoring North & East Hampshire and Surrey feeling slightly apprehensive and from the start Claire was amazing. Not only was she able to supply exceptional tutors at short notice on a flexible basis, but she took time to understand the position we were in and saw it for what it was. She supported us with empathy and zero judgement, she was hugely reassuring and provided our son with three tutors through mixed subjects to keep him up to date with his learning. He was halfway through his first GCSE year and we were worried about the impact. All three tutors provided a very high standard of teaching, my son was apprehensive at first but very quickly realised this was a completely different learning experience to what he was used to. The content covered and the style it was delivered was engaging and rewarding for him.
We’ve chosen to continue with a tutor while he integrates into his new school and this is largely due to the relationship he’s been able to develop, it’s given my son confidence in his ability and learning. The way he’s been supported has been wonderful and we’re very grateful for the service we’ve received. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Claire and her team.
